“Save the Sardine” at the Millennium gallery...

Save the Sardine

The “Save the Sardine” exhibition was inaugurated early this month in the Millennium gallery, as part of the Lisbon Festivities 2018.

For the eighth consecutive year, the Lisbon sardine contest launched the challenge of colouring the popular figure of this fish. A total of 3,726 sardine designs were sent by 1,879 artists from 63 different countries.

The exhibition reflects this diversity, offering visitors a selection of 143 sardines. In addition to the sardine exhibition, the top floor of the Millennium Gallery welcomes a drawing studio for children and adults.

This event, resulting from the long-running partnership between the Millennium Foundation and Lisbon city culture promoter EGEAC, responsible for the management and programming of various spaces and cultural events within the capital, and the design atelier Silvadesigners, is filled with dynamism, enthusiasm and creativity.
