Sustainability: Balance of the activities of the 1st semester in Portugal...

The consolidation of a culture of Social Responsibility and the capacity to positively influence the value proposition of the company in the longer term, while balancing the well-being of people, the organization and the communities in which it is active, are the essential objectives of the sustainability policies defined for the Millennium Group.

The materialization of this strategy, in a process that we know continuous, has allowed us to reduce by 5.2% of global energy consumption in the first half of 2018 when compared to the same period of 2017 (the proposed annual reduction target for 2018 is 3%), which corresponds to a reduction of 1.366 MWh of electricity consumption and about 534 tons of CO2 avoided.

But if the preservation of the environment is critical, involvement with the community, adding social value, is not less. It is with this conviction that we have been participating in various volunteer activities, which in 2018 brought together more than 120 Employees.

Reference also, in the economic dimension, to the commitment to Microcredit activity. In this context, the main strategic priorities were based on the dissemination of this financing model and the dynamism of entrepreneurship in the different regions of the country, strengthening Millennium bcp's reference and leadership position in this segment. To this end, 9 clarification sessions were held, with participation in 5 Entrepreneurial Fairs held and 42 meetings with City Councils, Town Councils, 3G CLDS, Universities, Professional Schools and other local entities closer to the target population.

Get to know in detail the activity developed by Millennium bcp, in Portugal, within the scope of Sustainability in the 1st half of 2018.
