eco.nomia Portal: Millennium bcp present with digitalisation project...

The portal eco.nomia, dedicated to the circular economy, is an initiative of the Ministério do Ambiente (Ministry of the Environment) that aims to inform consumers and public and private institutions on projects, business models, products and services focused on the implementation of the principles of the circular economy, but also support and promote initiatives that, directly or indirectly, contribute to support this transition.

According to BCSD Portugal, partner of this project, "The portal eco.nomia aims to be a knowledge aggregator, in order to inform and assist consumers and companies in the interpretation of the concept of circular economy and associated benefits, disseminate policies and cases, but also contribute to the dissemination of existing funding opportunities - such as Portugal 2020, Horizonte 2020, venture capital, research awards or fellowships - and, in a reserved access space, promote interaction between agents that can leverage ideas, projects and business models. The information on the portal will be aggregated by the most relevant areas of circular economy, namely: design, science & technology, companies, logistics, consumer and waste.

GO P@perless represents Millennium bcp as good example of Circular Economy

Millennium bcp, aware of its role in this process, has been developing a Sustainability strategy that incorporates and promotes a culture of environmental responsibility. This is how the protection of the surrounding environment, the preservation of nature, the fight against climate change and the rationalization of consumption, are objectives that integrate the essence of the environmental policy implemented in all its operations.

Example of this effort, but also of innovation and customer focus, the project GO P@perless bet on dematerialisation of business processes (e.g. account opening, term deposits, credit cards, ...), incorporating new forms of dematerialized subscription by customers, or through digital signature in the Branches, or by validating operations on digital tools.

The Bank, with the disclosure of this example, joined the group of companies (BCSD associates) that have integrated this project dedicated to the Circular Economy since its inception.
