Banque BCP initiative helps reforest national woods...The Pena Palace in Sintra was the venue chosen for the ceremony where Banque BCP handed a 60.000 euros donation to the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF), the governmental body responsible for the nature and forest policies, including the management of Protected Areas and state forested areas of Portugal.

ICNF President, Rogério Rodrigues, the Minister of Agriculture, Forests and Rural Development, Capoulas Santos, the Secretary of State of Forests and Rural Development, Miguel Freitas, and the President of Banque BCP, Jean-Philippe Diehl, attended this ceremony where a tree was planted, a small but meaningful gesture to help reforest the national woods.

“Banque BCP started an initiative in 2009 – To plant a tree in Portugal. For each client that subscribed to the Livret A savings account, Banque BCP donated €1. Today, we have donated over €60.000 and we are very happy to make this donation, which will enable the planting of dozens of hectares and we are also very happy to take part of the symbolic planting of a tree in the magnificent Sintra Park”, said Jean-Philippe Diehl.
