Millennium bcp in the European Money Week 2017...

European Money Week 2017The Associação Portuguesa de Bancos (APB) (Portuguese Banking Association) - together with the Instituto de Formação Bancária (IFB) (Institute for Bank Training) - and in partnership with Junior Achievement Portugal (JAP), rejoined the "European Money Week" initiative of the European Banking Federation that brings together banking associations from more than 30 countries. The European Money Week in 2017 ran from 27 to 31 March.

In this third edition, the four largest banks in Portugal, including Millennium bcp, join the initiative: twenty students, in groups of five each, had the possibility to know the backstage of these institutions, in a visit that was partly conducted by the CEOs, with whom they had the opportunity to talk and ask questions. These groups included students from different schools (public, private, professional), all from the Lisbon region.

This initiative - which is complementary to the work carried out during the year by the various financial associations and directly by many banks - draws attention to the importance of a broader and more comprehensive financial education in Portugal and in Europe, raising awareness of the importance of adopting adjusted and more informed behaviours, within the scope of their present and future financial choices.

Children and young people, future consumers of banking products and services, are the main target audience of this European Money Week, based on the assumption that customers and banks themselves benefit from increased financial literacy.
