The Pressure of Light - Álvaro Siza by Nuno Cera - exhibition at the Millennium Gallery...

Lisbon’s Millennium Gallery welcomed the launch of the book “Álvaro Siza, an Architectural Guide: Projects in Portugal”.

The presentation was made by architect João Luís Carrilho da Graça and was attended by architect Álvaro Siza and the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

Simultaneously to the launch of this edition, the photography exhibition “The Pressure of Light – Álvaro Siza by Nuno Cera” was inaugurated. Nuno Cera travelled the country on a winter trip, capturing, through his gaze of photographer and artist, images of all the works by Álvaro Siza, and which are part of the Álvaro Siza Architectural Guide: Projects in Portugal, now published. In the book, Nuno Cera's photographs are like an essay on the freedom to capture the architect's signature and also on guiding the user's gaze towards his sensitivity, towards what a work of architecture always conveys, as a testament of the human genius, especially when built according to the design of one of world's most admired architects.

The Millennium Foundation is sole patron of both the book and the exhibit open to the public at the Millennium Gallery.
