Device security...

Set an access password for the mobile device. Please consider activating the auto-lock when the device is inactive for a period of time.
Protect your smartphone/tablet with anti-virus software, without forgetting to update it according to the seller's instructions. The official stores have free apps;
Pay attention to the security updates that credible software companies provide and install them according to the instructions given. Turn off the option to install apps of unknown origin in the device's security settings;
You should always use official websites/stores when you need to install an application. Before you download an app, read other customers' reviews and check what the app will need to access on your device (ex: reading and sending texts, access to contacts, location services). It is very important to pay attention to access permissions given to apps;
When using your e-mail account on your mobile phone, make sure you never open messages you do not recognise, especially attachments or links. If you receive a suspicious link, ask the sender about it using another communication channel. You should also avoid sending confidential information by e-mail;
Never open links in text messages sent by unknown contacts. Delete the message and block the sender, or, if it was sent by a trustworthy entity, we suggest that you check whether the contents are true by contacting that entity before opening the link. Also beware of text messages asking for personal data. It may not be malware, but a way to get your contacts for spam mail;
Free Wi-Fi networks make it easy for you to be online and for cyber-criminals to do their job. Avoid using this type of connection to open websites that require sensitive information, including social networks, online shopping and homebanking and logout before leaving the page or close down active apps on your smartphone/tablet. For these accesses, always use the network provided by your mobile operator;
Regularly back up your data so that you always have an up-to-date copy should your phone be lost, stolen or if you need to repair or reset the device;
Turn Bluetooth off when not being used. Your mobile phone will be less vulnerable to cyber attacks and it saves battery;
Add your information as owner of the smartphone. Most devices enable showing the owner info on the home or lock screen. That way, if you lose it and well-intentioned strangers find it, they will be able to contact you;
Finally... Keep your smartphone safe physically. A mobile phone is ever more a personal object, with sensitive information, so keep it close to you! 


Millennium App

Install the apps (for the Bank's homebanking) from the official stores (App Store and Play Store). Never install apps from links provided by third parties or by e-mail. For more information, consult the menu Mobile.
Define a unique access code (PIN) of four digits to open the Millennium App and do not use it for other apps;

Don't use obvious PIN codes (1234; 1111; date of birth; postal code, etc) to open the Millennium App. Regularly change your PIN in the settings, available after logging into the Millennium App;

When the PIN code is wrong three times in a row, the Millennium App can only be unlocked using a PUK code that can be viewed at, after the login, menu M, View PUK APP;

The Multichannel Access Code is requested at the time of registry and for the confirmation of transactions in the Millennium App. You are only requested to enter 3 random positions, therefore, if additional information is requested (ex: complete Multichannel Access Code, 4 digits of the Multichannel Access Code, mobile phone number) it is fraud and you should report it by calling: 91 827 24 24 / 93 522 24 24 / 96 599 24 24 / +351 21 005 24 24 (from Portugal or abroad). General Notes...

Millennium bcp never sends its customers e-mail or text messages with links and never asks for personal or confidential information;

You should never provide the Authorisation Codes received via SMS or Token to third parties, and you should carefully read the contents of the SMS with the authorisation codes identifying the data of the operation you requested, for instance:

One-off transfer
amounting to 127.43 €
Western Union Transfer
to Nigeria, amounting to 250 €
Payment of Services to Entity xxxxx,
reference 901203249, amounting to 500 €
Access codes for Millennium bcp are personal and not transferable, therefore should you suspect that these have been compromised, please change them as soon as possible or request that they be blocked using the phone channel;
For security reasons, Millennium bcp's Mobile channels include limited time for a session and close automatically if inactive after a period of time;
