Fraudulent Phone calls


We were informed that several customers and non-customers of Millennium bcp have been receiving phone calls from alleged employees of Microsoft”, from the United Kingdom, informing them that they have detected that their computer shows anomalies and that their software license has been cancelled.

It represents an attempt of Vishing, a word in English that combines the words voice and phishing whose aim is to steal your data or personal information, such as credit card numbers, passwords, account information or other data.

For that purpose they inform you that, to once again be able to use the program, you will have to pay an irrelevant amount, using a bank card, as well as update the software, updates which may be instructed by the person calling. Often, they also request your permission to remotely access your computer.

Using this access permission granted by the user, they may copy files and install malware and you won't even notice it.

The purpose of this fraudulent phone call is also to get our customer's bank card data.

Please be advised that you should never provide any personal or bank data by phone to any alleged entity that contacts you and we suggest you to disconnect the call and contact the entity in question to assess the authenticity of the call.
